Hannah Kearny: A Ski Season of Wins & Comfort in Sense

If you follow Sense on facebook (and please do!) then you’ve probably seen us hyping up Professional Skiier, Hannah Kearny. She’s not only an Olympic Gold Medalist, but she’s had quite the season this year and we’re MORE than excited for all her successes, plus her sharing her Sense love along the way!

Hannah had a set back early in the season that posted her up for several months.”Unfortunately, I took a spill during training on October 5th and had to spend 5 days in the hospital with a bruised liver, 2 fractured ribs and a small pneumothorax in my right lung. Once I was allowed to change out of my hospital gown, my teammates brought me some of my own clothing and my Sense wear was quite comfortable for my forced bed rest. Luckily, I was never in a lot of pain and I heal quickly.” –Hannah Kearny

With our hearts booming, Hannah won the FIS Freestyle Ski World Championships women’s moguls and didn’t stop there.

This past weekend Hannah took first place in Are, Sweden for women’s Dual Moguls and is now headed to Spain this weekend for finals. We cannot be more excited for her season and are rooting for her all the way to finals!

Introducing our beloved friend Kellie Adkins- the master mind behind Wisdom Method Wellness!

Kellie, tell us about yourself…

Kellie is a mommy, a writer, a yoga teacher, and a health coach doing what she does in a ridiculously small town in Central Florida {she’s the one wearing the leopard print leggings} If you happen to be in Florida’s Bible Belt look her up for some irreverent jokes, a cup of tea, or some deeply intuitive yoga. When she’s not writing or chasing her toddler or balancing on her hands, you’ll find her knitting sweaters she’ll be able to wear for exactly one day a year.

What makes Sense Clothing one of your essentials?

The ultimate wear-ability. I love that I can dress for teaching a yoga class, having lunch with a friend, chasing my toddler, and seeing a client…all in one outfit by Sense!

What’s the most special (Sense-ational) part of your day?

Afternoon tea time with my two-year-old daughter: Green tea for mommy, herbal for Veda. It’s a precious ritual.

buzzing about Arizona Muse – Sense Clothing

A beautiful 17 year old walked into our Sense Clothing showroom in 2006 for a fitting. Her name was Zoe, but today everyone now knows her as Arizona Muse. What first struck me was her maturity and striking beauty. But how will she photograph? We had a photo shoot scheduled with Peter Ogilvie in Oct and Zoe was one of our models. I have to say Santa Fe doesn’t have a huge pool of models to call on, but we have been so lucky to come across some of the most beautiful and interesting women to model our clothing. Zoe is no exception. The very first shot on that day would be a photo that we still continue to use today. Arizona quickly became the face of Sense even before signing with Next. With each season to the next she started to show her comfort with being in front of the lens. It’s great to see someone grow and become successful so quickly. You can imagine how excited we were for her when we heard she had wrapped up a BEBE campaign. That same year she became pregnant and left New York and moved to Tucson AZ. Fast forward a quick year later and we would be working together again launching our Spring/Summer 2010 collection. We also got to meet the new man in her life (her son) Nikko, who by the way, was a perfect gentlemen at the photo shoot. Zoe had changed. Her long blonde hair was gone and was a more natural darker shade. More than anything I noticed how much more relaxed she seemed especially when Nikko was near. Within the year she was walking all the major runways.

I speak for all of us here at Sense that we are beyond blown away by how far she’s come and certainly how hard she’s worked. It’s no small task to be a mother, fashion icon and the most talked about model of the year.

ps. Zoe – We’re still counting on that Sense tattoo 😉
